Have you ever been driving and looked in your rearview mirror to see a cop directly behind you? It kind of freaks you out, right? You start asking yourself "Did I stop at that stop sign? Did I use my turning signal at that last left? Do I have a dead body in the trunk?" (Who hasn't?!)

This happened to me yesterday while driving back from work, and though the cop was only behind me for maybe three minutes, the whole time I'm going crazy checking my mirrors, knowing full well I didn't do anything, just waiting for those flashing lights. It starts to make you think that maybe you did something that you forgot about. By the time he turned off, I was fully convinced I had sold crack in Baltimore, and that this cop had somehow found out by running my plates.

Cops in most places, especially College Park, have much better things to do than drive around scaring people. Trust me. I mean, someone got shot and killed a few weeks ago in local apartment buildings, kids' houses get broken into, and people are getting robbed at 4pm on busy streets. Probably most importantly though, if cops are driving around scaring people, namely me, who is going to idly hang out in the Wawa parking lot all day doing absolutely nothing? (Seriously, I walked by two cop cars there and they were both looking up stuff on Wikipedia on their police computers.)

Plus, cops are just cocky. Yeah, okay you have a gun. We get it. But seriously, do you need to wear aviator sunglasses at night? I once got pulled over in highschool on a Friday night because my "headlights were too bright." Really? He was obviously just looking for an excuse to pull over a teenager, and when he realized that I wasn't intoxicated, he tried to play it off by actually standing in front of my car and looking at my headlights for 30 seconds and then deciding to "let me off with a warning." Okay Barney Fife. Thanks for the warning. Do you know why I pulled you over son? Gee, I don't know officer, because you got C's in highschool?

I believe that parking lot is no longer called the "wawa parking lot"...I motion for renaming it the vertigo books parking lot
